Card Market Impact

Every new MCU release creates a card market event. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will spike Tom Holland cards in July, Doomsday will send Doctor Doom through the roof in December, and Secret Wars in 2027 will be the biggest card event since Endgame. Smart collectors use release calendars to buy 60-90 days before each premiere.

The Complete MCU Release Calendar: Every Movie, Series & Cartoon Coming Through 2028

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is entering its most ambitious stretch since the Infinity Saga. Between now and the end of 2028, Marvel Studios has confirmed three theatrical blockbusters, at least five Disney+ series, and a growing slate of animated projects that are quietly building one of the most exciting eras in superhero storytelling.

For collectors, every single one of these releases represents a card market catalyst. The smart money does not wait for opening weekend — it moves 60 to 90 days before each premiere, when hype is building but prices have not yet spiked. This calendar is your roadmap.

Currently Airing & Recently Released

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premiered on March 24, 2026 on Disney+. The 9-episode season airs Tuesdays at 9 PM EST, with the finale expected in early May. Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have delivered what critics are calling the best Marvel series since the Netflix era. Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal are both delivering career-defining performances, and the show's success has already pushed Daredevil and Punisher card values up 40-60% since premiere night.

Wonder Man Season 1 released on January 27, 2026 on Disney+. All 8 episodes are now streaming, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams. The show was well-received enough that Marvel announced Season 2 on March 23, 2026 — making Wonder Man one of the few Disney+ Marvel shows to earn an immediate renewal.

Phase 6 Movies

Spider-Man: Brand New Day — July 31, 2026

Director Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi) is bringing Peter Parker back to the big screen four years after No Way Home. The cast is stacked: Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink as a new character, Jon Bernthal crossing over as the Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, and Michael Mando returning as Scorpion. The story picks up with Peter completely erased from everyone's memory, operating as a full-time Spider-Man who has physically evolved into something more powerful — and more dangerous.

Card Market Impact: Tom Holland Spider-Man cards are already climbing. The Topps Chrome Marvel base card and any numbered parallels should be acquired before June. Sadie Sink's first Marvel card will be a chase item. Jon Bernthal Punisher crossover cards will benefit from both the Disney+ Special Presentation and this film.

Avengers: Doomsday — December 18, 2026

The Russo Brothers return to direct the biggest MCU event since Endgame. Robert Downey Jr. stars as Doctor Doom, with Sebastian Stan, Patrick Stewart, Letitia Wright, and a massive ensemble cast. Steve Rogers returns, Thor brings his adopted daughter, the X-Men officially cross over, and the Wakandans meet the Fantastic Four for the first time. The CinemaCon trailer has already broken the internet, and the first public trailer is expected at SDCC in July.

Card Market Impact: This is the single biggest card market event of 2026. Doctor Doom Topps Chrome #1 is the flagship card. RDJ auto cards are long-term holds. Any X-Men crossover cards (Gambit, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm) will surge when the public trailer drops. Buy before SDCC.

Avengers: Secret Wars — December 17, 2027

Based on the 2015 Secret Wars comic storyline involving incursions and multiverse collisions, this is the endgame of the Multiverse Saga. Doctor Doom plays a central role, and the film is expected to bring together characters from across the entire multiverse — potentially including legacy actors from previous Marvel franchises. Production begins in 2027.

Card Market Impact: Secret Wars will be the biggest card event since the original Endgame. Every major character's cards will spike. Start building positions in 2026 while prices are still reasonable. Multiverse variant cards and any Secret Wars-themed inserts will be extremely valuable.

Disney+ Series

The Punisher: One Last Kill — May 12, 2026

Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle in a Disney+ Special Presentation arriving just one week after the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale. Marvel has promised this is "not Punisher-lite" — expect the brutal, uncompromising Frank Castle that fans fell in love with on Netflix. This is a one-shot special, not a full series, which makes it even more of an event.

Card Market Impact: Punisher cards are already surging thanks to Born Again Season 2. The Special Presentation will add another wave of demand. Jon Bernthal auto cards from Topps Chrome Sapphire recently sold for over $1,000.

X-Men '97 Season 2 — Summer 2026

The animated series that broke Disney+ records returns for a second season that showrunners have described as "very dark" with "a lot of people die." Season 3 is already confirmed with no date yet. X-Men '97 single-handedly reignited the X-Men card market, driving 90s-era cards to prices not seen in decades.

Card Market Impact: X-Men '97 has been the single biggest driver of X-Men card values in 2025-2026. Gambit, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Storm cards from both vintage and modern sets have seen 200-400% increases. Season 2 will push them even higher.

VisionQuest — TBA 2026

Paul Bettany returns as White Vision in a series run by Terry Matalas (Star Trek: Picard). Set approximately one year after WandaVision, the show follows Vision struggling to feel the memories of his past life. Each episode is described as a different type of movie, making this one of the most creatively ambitious Marvel series yet.

Card Market Impact: Vision cards are currently undervalued relative to other Avengers. VisionQuest could be the catalyst that brings them in line with the rest of the team. Paul Bettany auto cards are a strong speculative buy.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 — TBA

The animated series has been renewed for a second season on Disney+. The show explores an alternate timeline Spider-Man story with a fresh art style that has earned critical praise and a dedicated fanbase.

Wonder Man Season 2 — TBA

Already renewed after a successful first season. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will return as Simon Williams. No release date announced yet.

Phase 7 Movies (2028)

Marvel has locked in four release dates for 2028, though no titles have been officially announced:

  • February 18, 2028 — Untitled Marvel Film
  • May 5, 2028 — Untitled Marvel Film
  • November 10, 2028 — Untitled Marvel Film
  • December 15, 2028 — Untitled Marvel Film

Rumored projects that could fill these slots include Thor 5, Shang-Chi 2, World War Hulk, Nova, and Eternals 2. Blade remains in development. Armor Wars may be a film or series.

Animated Projects

X-Men '97 Season 2 (Summer 2026) and Season 3 (confirmed, no date) continue the animated renaissance. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 is in production. Marvel Zombies Season 2 was confirmed in April 2026 after Season 1's cliffhanger ending with Scarlet Witch trapping Ms. Marvel. Eyes of Wakanda released in August 2025 and explored Wakanda's history through animation.

The Endgame Re-Release

Avengers: Endgame returns to theaters on September 25, 2026 in the new "Infinity Vision" format with brand-new Doomsday footage and scenes added. This is not just a re-release — it is a narrative bridge between Endgame and Doomsday, making it essential viewing for understanding the December film.

Collector's Corner

This release calendar is essentially a collector's investment roadmap. Every premiere date is a price catalyst, and the window to buy is always 60-90 days before release. The biggest opportunities right now are Doctor Doom cards before the SDCC trailer drop, Spider-Man cards before Brand New Day in July, and X-Men cards before Season 2 of X-Men '97.

Hot Cards to Watch:

  • Doctor Doom Topps Chrome Marvel #1 — Buy before SDCC in July; the public trailer will send this card vertical
  • Tom Holland Spider-Man auto cards — Brand New Day in July is the next major catalyst
  • Jon Bernthal Punisher Sapphire Auto /10 — Born Again S2 + One Last Kill = double catalyst in May
  • X-Men '97 vintage cards (Gambit, Wolverine, Storm) — Season 2 this summer will push another wave
