Superfractors, Foilfractors and 1/1s

If you're chasing the absolute pinnacle of modern Marvel collecting, you need to be looking at the 1/1s in 2025 Topps Marvel Mint. We're talking about the cards that define a collection, the ones that make other collectors stop and stare. With Avengers: Doomsday looming on the horizon, the race to secure these unique masterpieces is heating up faster than the Human Torch.

Let's break down exactly what we're dealing with here. Across the entire set, there are exactly 720 true 1/1 cards. That includes 120 Chrome Superfractors, 120 Foilfractors, and 480 Printing Plates (four distinct plates for each of the 120 cards). And if that wasn't enough, there are also 200 Dr. Doom Comic Cuts, each one a unique 1/1 piece of comic history.

When you look at the NLF Card Database, the sheer rarity of these cards becomes apparent. Every character in the set, from the Bronze tier up to the Platinum tier, has exactly one Chrome Superfractor and one Foilfractor. That means there is only one #101 Spider-Man Chrome Superfractor in existence. The same goes for the #107 Doctor Doom Foilfractor.

For collectors, the focus right now is laser-targeted on the characters confirmed or heavily rumored for Avengers: Doomsday. The #101 Spider-Man (featuring Tobey Maguire) and the #102 Wolverine (featuring Hugh Jackman) are the holy grails. We know from the rumored opening scene that these two are going to clash in an alternate NYC, making their 1/1s incredibly desirable.

But let's not forget the main event: Doctor Doom. With Robert Downey Jr. stepping into the iconic armor, the #107 Doctor Doom 1/1s are arguably the most important cards in the set. And then there are the 200 Dr. Doom Comic Cuts. These are literal pieces of comic book history embedded into a card, and each one is a 1/1. If you want to see what a true masterpiece looks like, check out the Rise of Doom card #56, which features a cut from Secret Wars #8 where God Emperor Doom kills Thanos.

The supporting cast is also seeing a massive surge in interest. The #106 Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal) and the rest of the Fantastic Four, like the #90 The Thing and #98 Human Torch, are prime targets. And with the X-Men confirmed, the #112 Storm, #115 Magneto, and #117 Professor X 1/1s are going to be fiercely contested.

As we covered in our Platinum Tier breakdown, the competition for these top-tier characters is intense. But even in the lower tiers, there's massive value to be found. The #87 Cyclops (James Marsden) and #51 Beast (Kelsey Grammer) both have confirmed roles, making their Gold and Silver tier 1/1s sleeper hits.

Why should you care about this right now? Because as we get closer to the Avengers: Doomsday release, the hype is only going to grow. Building interest in Topps Marvel Mint and Topps Marvel Comic Book Heroes now is the smartest play a collector can make. Once the CinemaCon trailer drops in April 2026, the prices on these 1/1s are going to skyrocket.

If you're lucky enough to pull one of these, or if you're hunting for them on the secondary market, make sure you're checking eBay Comps regularly. The market for 1/1s is volatile, and you need to stay informed. And if you're looking to buy or sell, our Whatnot streams are a great place to connect with other high-end collectors.
