The Defenders brings together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist as they are forced to unite against The Hand, a shadowy organization threatening to destroy New York City, in this 8-episode miniseries crossover event.

The Netflix Avengers Assemble

The Defenders was Netflix Marvel's equivalent of The Avengers — the crossover event that brought four solo heroes together. While it didn't quite reach the heights of its best individual series, the chemistry between the four leads was undeniable. Watching Jessica Jones mock Danny Rand while Luke Cage played peacemaker was exactly the dynamic fans wanted.

Sigourney Weaver's Alexandra

Casting Sigourney Weaver as the primary villain was a statement of intent. Her Alexandra brought gravitas and menace to The Hand, even if the character's arc was cut shorter than expected. The twist involving Elektra's Black Sky transformation gave the miniseries its emotional core.

The Restaurant Scene

The moment all four Defenders finally sit down together in a Chinese restaurant is one of Netflix Marvel's most iconic scenes. The banter, the reluctance, the slow realization that they need each other — it was earned through years of solo storytelling.
